Winter Layers for the Bedroom

A few weeks ago we added some Winter layers to Hazel's bed using budget friendly options from Walmart's new Winter Line. You probably already know that we don't go crazy decorating for the holidays but we do love to add layers that will see us through our long Winters. We usually start with a good base of neutrals and textures that we can add a little holiday vibe to when the time comes. Adding layers doesn't have to be expensive, Walmart has some really great budget friendly options, free shipping on orders of $35 or more, free returns, and you can shop online and pick up in your local store so you really can't go wrong.

I thought it would be fun to show you this base layer that you could build off of for any room. Even though the palette is neutral we had fun mixing patterns.

I love a good stripe with pretty much anything and this windowpane throw blanket is under $16 and makes such a statement mixed with those stripes. The faux double sheepskin cranks the cozy up a notch and can be used on the bed or floor depending on her mood. We stole some art from around the house and brought up this little Norfolk Pine that I've had for years. There you go - all set for Winter in here.

We have a few of these faux double sheepskin rugs around, this is definitely the best one we have. Silky soft and super thick, it looks much more expensive than it is. We use them layered on benches, the sofa, and even on the porch as you'll see down below. Layer it over your rug or on it's own alongside the bed, it's the perfect size and so cozy on the toes on a cold Winter morning! (This is the 2' x 6' size)

I know some of you have a hard time mixing patterns so I've linked a few of my favorites below. All of them work so well together. The flannel sheets are super soft, come in a ton of fun patterns, and are under $30 for a king size! Find two different patterns that you love and have fun putting them together.

I couldn't resist styling the deck with the pillows, throw and sheepskin as well just to show you how versatile these layers can be.

Super cute, right! Here are a few Winter picks for your outdoor spaces including a swing chair (for under $300) and Christmas trees similar to ours.
