Today we are getting to know Ashley and her small shop, Meridian. Based in New York, Ashley is a former Producer/Director of Sesame Street. Inspired by the traveling her work involved she realized she could make an impact in the lives of artisans in isolated and disadvantaged communities. Ashley now works with artisans in over 20 countries practicing fair trade principles, helping preserve indigenous traditions and choosing environmentally sustainable methods whenever possible. You can be sure that every purchase through Meridian makes a direct impact in an artisans community.

Meet Ashley below and shop a few of my favorite items....

From Ashley...

"I was inspired to create Meridian by a love for travel and the desire to decorate my home with authentic decor from around the world that told a story of its culture, maker, and technique. I cut my teeth telling stories for Sesame Street, where I worked as a Producer/Director. (Grover is my favorite Muppet, if you’re wondering!) I traveled a lot for my job and in life, and I became inspired by the personal stories of creators I met along the way. Meridian is more than another travel-inspired brand; We are on a mission to make a meaningful impact in the lives of global craftspeople. We do that by partnering with artisans in over 20 countries to collaborate, design and produce home decor items while providing fair wages, steady employment, sustainable skills and a lasting social impact."

Most well known for incredible pillows, Meridian has an assortment of treasures I think you will love! Among other things you'll find a huge selection of baskets, blankets, home decor, and my personal favorite - the one of a kind market finds. I tried to include a little bit of everything below but you'll find so much more in her shop here. You can also find Meridian on instagram here to keep up with what's new and be the first to know about sales.

Happy shopping!

XO, Meg
